to speak holy but live with jaundiced deeds
am I then a sounding brass and tinkling cymbal

if he sees and hears
what kind of man am I
am I a prison of sight and sound
or a freedom of worship and service

hear me Lord
and see me
may I bring seeing into hearing
and hearing into seeing

if not let me cease speaking
for your seeing to find me
or cease doing
for your grace to embrace me
